Press G. Click on the little head figure next to your name and click on leave guild.

I have a similar problem,

In one of the previous betas I joined a guild in which most of the members have now since left which left me as the leadear of the guild and unable to leave the guild.

You can leave from the guild interface still. I had made a guild in the last BWE. I was the only member. When retail hit I just left my guild and joined a real guild with people in it.

when I click on my icon it says I can't leave the guild because I am listed as it's leader.

Is "leave" the only option you have? I was the leader and the only member. It let me disband my guild.

Thx for the help, what I did was just designate the only other person listed in the guild(who hasn't benn on in more than a 3 months) as the leader.
